A pharmacy POS system built for Ghana
A generic retail till can ring up a sale. A pharmacy POS has to do more: credit customers, cash and MoMo in the same drawer, controlled returns, expiring stock. And it has to keep working when the network doesn't.
Common questions
Does PharmHive work with barcode scanners?
Yes. Any standard USB or wireless barcode scanner gun works out of the box: scan an item and it's on the sale. You can also search by product name for items without barcodes.
Can cashiers sell when the internet is down?
Yes. The desktop POS keeps working fully offline (sales, receipts, credit sales, shift closes) for days if necessary, then syncs automatically when the connection returns.
How does it prevent theft at the till?
Every shift opens with a counted float and closes with a cash count; the system compares expected against actual and records the variance with the cashier's name. Returns can be held for owner approval, price changes are logged, and the audit trail records every action.
Can it record mobile money and credit sales?
Yes. Every sale records its payment method: cash, MoMo, or credit. The dashboard shows exactly how much cash versus mobile money came in today, and credit sales flow into per-customer debt accounts.
Do I pay per till or per terminal?
The team explains the applicable pricing structure after a product demonstration and a review of the operation. Confirm the branches, users and devices covered by the written proposal instead of assuming a public fee model.
